The italian artist LUCA BUVOLI has been selected as a recipient of the Barnett and Annalee Newman Award – a substantial grant to encourage, and in recognition of, creative contributions in the arts. This grant/award is given every few years to artists whose work best embodies the rigorous and independent ethos of Abstract Expressionist artist Barnett Newman. Previous recipients include Rebecca Horn (2004), Judy Pfaff (2006), and Larry Poons (2010). LUCA BUVOLI lives in Cleveland-Ohio and NYC."
